The White Rock based GreenWheels Sustainable Transportation Policy Project was incorporated in 2005 as an educational non-profit organization. GreenWheels is working to develop policies and plans which will achieve a reduction in transportation carbon fuel use and CO2 emissions by 80%, in order to ensure safer communities and smarter transportation choices that enhance the economy, improve public health, promote social equity, and protect the environment. Since its inception, GreenWheels has done extensive public education. GreenWheels has given numerous presentations to schools, colleges, and professional, governmental and non-profit organizations. GreenWheels has also exhibited a Class 3 Honda Insight, Class 2 100-200 mpg equivalent highway electric vehicles, and 200+ mpg Class 1 low speed electric vehicles at numerous sustainability events to illustrate the feasibility of safe, sustainable transportation.
