The following local offices are open for election in 2018, each with a four year term beginning: January 1, 2019 and ending December 31, 2022

SPECIAL NOTICE:  
Pursuant to the New Mexico Election Code (NMSA 1-4-16B), every person appearing as a candidate on the primary or general election ballot shall be a candidate only under the name and party affiliation designation appearing on the existing voter registration on file in the county clerk's office on the date of the governor's proclamation of a primary election.     

Governor Martinez will issue the proclamation on Monday,  January 29, 2018.


Tuesday, March 13, 2018:  
Candidate Filing Day (Local Offices)

9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. County Clerk’s Office (second floor, Municipal Building)

Candidates not required to file nominating petitions; pay a $50 Filing Fee

Saturday, May 19, 2018: 

Early Voting at Additional Locations Begins

 

Friday, June 1, 2018: 

Last Day County Clerk May Mail an Absentee Ballot

 

Saturday, June 2, 2018: 

Early Voting Ends

 

Sunday, June 3 and Monday, June 4, 2018: 

Voting is closed

 

Tuesday, June 5, 2018: 

Primary Election Day 
(open to major parties only)

- New Mexico is a CLOSED Primary Election State.  Only registrants registered in a major party can vote in the 2018 Primary Election.  At this time, the major parties are: Democratic and Republican 

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Absentee ballots are due to the County Clerk by 7:00 p.m.

Drawing for Party Position on the General Election ballot by the NM Secretary of State
