Limiting the Search Scope

Doing this will narrow down your search results if you know the type of information you are looking for.  Below is the list of scope types to help in your searching of the Los Alamos County web site.

All Sites
This scope type will include all site information, so this will widen the search in reality and this is the default scope used in the normal search.

Documents
This scope type will limit the search scope to just the PDF documents that are posted all over this site and will search with in the document also.  So if you know what subjects in a Council meeting covered then use this scope type and the “Find items with . . .” text boxes to find the minutes covered in the meeting.

Events
This scope type will limit the search to just events that are posted in the site as calendar items like the ones you find in the right side bar of the “Home” page.

Announcements
Through out the site some pages have posted “announcements” or “bulletins” and this scope type limits your search to only these items.

Contacts
This scope will limit the search to only “Contact” or “Directory” items such as phone number and address listings.  This a great way to find important County phone numbers.
